They stayed in room number 8 of the hostel which was allotted to one Satya Prakash, who was out of the city. They later invited two other friends Kabir and Ravi to the hostel room, said police.
On Monday morning, some of the students staying in the hostel entered the room and found Akash lying in a pool of blood. On investigation, it was found that Akash was drugged before being hit on the head by some blunt object, said police.
Akash was a well-built man and it was not easy to manhandle him, said cops. Police suspect that the four friends must have had an enmity with him and decided to settle score. Two of the suspects have been arrested but their names were revealed by the police who are still investigating the case.
Protesting against the murder, YMCA students blocked the traffic on national highway for more than four hours.
